Quick Guide
Choose a class by its starting spell and the play style described on its picker; the game displays nine choices. A higher health number alone does not establish which class is strongest.
- Select a class icon to see its starting spell and health.
- Read its short description and inspect the displayed spell pool.
- Check the chosen hero's race and talents before entering a zone.
The class picker offers nine choices. We checked each one in the browser game on build 0.124.0 with zero talent points and no worn gear. This is a menu reference, not a class ranking or a test of complete runs.

Nine classes at a glance
These are the Health and Starts With values printed on each picker, observed with no worn gear and no talent points. The selected race changed with some classes during the check. We did not test how race bonuses or other progression affect actual health in a run.

Read the class description and race together
The picker describes each class's theme: for example, Paladin combines holy ground and healing, Hunter uses ranged attacks, and Shaman uses storms and totems. For one developed-character example, see the recorded Marksmanship Hunter setup. These are the game's brief descriptions, not independently measured strengths.
The selected race is shown separately from the class. In our session, changing to Shaman selected an Orc and displayed its racial traits; changing classes could change the selected race. Check the race panel as well as the class panel before starting. For a closer look at one class's current talent milestones, see the Paladin talent guide.

A recorded Frost Mage example
The Frost Mage recording breakdown follows Holdherhand’s video showing a developed Gnome Mage with 49 of 54 gear pieces and all 51 talent points earned. At 0:10, the talent screen displays 14 Arcane, 0 Fire and 37 Frost. This is the final setup shown, not an order for spending a new character's points.
At 25:43 in the same recording, a Victory screen names Naxxramas and reports 20:10 survived, level 66 and five bosses slain. That is one recorded result with that character's prior progression, not a controlled class comparison or a guarantee for a fresh Mage. The recording shows v0.114.2; check changes before applying its setup to a newer build.
A recorded Warrior setup
The recorded Fury Warrior example follows Exotránce’s video, which shows a developed Undead Warrior on game build 0.120.5: 47 of 54 equipment pieces collected, all 12 zones open, and 51 talent points. At 0:10, the talent screen shows 20 Arms, 31 Fury and 0 Protection. This is a finished configuration, not a point-by-point levelling order.
The selected Rampage tooltip at 0:10 says every seventh kill triggers a free Whirlwind. At 0:30, Flurry's tooltip says Whirlwind and Bloodthirst strike a second time for 40% of the blow. Those are the tooltips displayed in that older build; inspect the current descriptions before copying them. A late battle frame was observed, but a victory screen has not been verified, so the recording does not establish a clear or a current ranking.

Before choosing a best class
Starting health and the first spell do not show a class's full damage, defense, talent progression or ease of clearing a boss. We have not run a controlled comparison across all nine classes, so this page does not assign a tier list.
Once you have selected a hero, the beginner guide covers entering the first run. For the sequence shown in the zone picker, check the zone unlock order.
